MAINTENANCE MAN

Teagan Neel

Teagan Shea Neel was born on December 22 nd , 1994. He is the youngest of 18 children and has a birthday twin in his brother, Shamus. Shamus was only 3 years old at the time that Teagan was born and wanted to name Teagan Barney, T-Rex, or The Incredible Hulk. We were all pulling for him to be named “The Incredible Hulk” as he is indeed incredible, but Mom vetoed all three alternatives.

Teagan is a very literal, funny, kind, compassionate, and loving person who knows a lot about many things. If you don’t believe it, he will tell you. He’s very literal in the sense that if today is Monday and he says next Tuesday we are going to lunch, he means tomorrow because that is the “next Tuesday.”

Teagan loves being around people of all ages, and he brings joy, love, and light to every person he encounters. To know Teagan is to know and experience pure, innocent, unconditional, and eternal love.

Family often says that Teagan’s love has got to be the closest thing to God’s love that one might ever experience on our earthly home.

Teagan is very proud to have the title of “Maintenance Man” at The Heritage Home. This has been a dream of his for many years and he is so excited to follow in his big brother Sean’s footsteps. When the owners “interviewed” Teagan for this position and asked him, “Why should we pick you for this job?” His response was very simple, “I’m just the best man” and to that, no one can argue. He is in fact the best man for the job and we have no doubt he will have a profound effect on many lives at The Heritage Home. Teagan will serve in a variety of roles at The Heritage Home in addition to “maintenance man.”

He has many years’ experience working as a “Talk Doctor” and is available as needed for anyone who needs someone to talk to or share their problems with……he is sure to talk so much, you will soon forget all of your worries! He also has some experience serving coffee as this was his job in high school; you might find him serving coffee to the elderly, staff, and visitors in the mornings as well as during afternoon “break time.” He also loves music and you might find him serving as the “DJ” spinning some tunes or leading “sing-alongs.” Since Teagan will play such an important role in keeping everyone smiling and serving in so many capacities, he has negotiated many things with the owners; stay tuned…… there are sure to be many more negotiations, he is in fact pretty good at getting what he wants and is very hard to say no to. For now, it has been mutually agreed upon that Teagan will have his own office (“office hours” will be posted on his door), his own “on call” cell phone (he wants you to know you can call him anytime except he takes holidays off), he will be provided a Heritage home hat, “collared workman” shirts that say, “Teagan Neel, Maintenance Man” and Dickies work jeans that have a tape measure and set of keys hanging from his belt loop. When at The Heritage Home, be sure to look for the jolly, happy fellow in the above attire and you are sure to leave with a little more love and joy in your heart!
